Firmware Update

Each software version includes the most current SIMEAS Q80 7KG8080 firmware. This makes it easy to update the
system with new functions, for example. Depending on the particular device model, the following components are
automatically loaded: Interface-Firmware (Ethernet, Modem, ...), Boot-program, amplifier firmware, firmware for the
DSPs.
The firmware-update is only necessary if the SIMEAS Q80 Manager software was delivered as an update. If you
received your SIMEAS Q80 7KG8080 device together with the software, no firmware-update is required.
Once the program connects up with SIMEAS Q80 7KG8080, the device's firmware is checked. If the software version
doesn't match the device's firmware version, you are asked if you want to perform a firmware-update.
Note
As a matter of principle, we recommend updating to a higher version.
Downgrading to an older version can lead impairment of the device's functioning and to increased
occurrence of errors.
