Utilizing a viscous-center locking differential, normally,

wheels. Normally, the VTD system splits power 45% front
and 55% rear, for more of a performance-driving feel.
WRX STi
DCCD
Featuring both manual and automatic modes, Driver
with 6-speed
Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) All-Wheel Drive
manual
uses an electronically managed multi-plate transfer
clutch in conjunction with a planetary gear-type center
differential to control power distribution between the front
and rear wheels. Normally, DCCD splits power 35% front
and 65% rear for an even greater performance-driving feel.

IMPREZA WRX STi.
In keeping with its dedication to
uncompromising
performance, the WRX STi uti-
lizes an advanced Driver Controlled Center
Differential (DCCD) All-Wheel Drive sys-
tem. In automatic mode, its planetary
center differential splits the engine
torque, sending 65% to the rear wheels
and
35%
to
the
front.
In
turn,
an electronically controlled multi-plate
transfer clutch continually
adjusts the torque split for
superb
handling in virtu-
ally all driving conditions.
