Tire Inflation Pressure

A table (see fuel filler flap or last page)
lists the tire inflation pressures speci
fied for summer and winter tires as well
as for the varying operating conditions.
Important!
Tire pressure differs by approx.
0.1 bar/1.5psi p e r1 0 °C /1 8 °F o fa ir
temperature change. Keep this in mind
when checking tire pressure inside a
garage - especially in the winter.
Example:
Room temperature = approx.
+ 2 0 °C /+ 6 8 °F
Ambient temperature = approx.
0 °C /+ 3 2 °F
Adjusted air pressure = specified air
pressure + 0 .2 bar/3 psi.
Tire pressures listed for light loads are
minimum values offering high driving
comfort. Increased inflation pressures
for heavy loads produce favorable
handling characteristics with lighter
loads and are perfectly permissible.
The ride of the vehicle, however, will
become somewhat harder.
Tire temperature and pressure in
crease with the vehicle speed. Tire
pressure should therefore only be cor
rected on cold tires. Correct tire pres
sure in hot tires only if pressure has
dropped below the data listed in the
table and the respective operating con
ditions are taken into consideration.
