Upon initialization the default values are:
• background =0
• palette =1
That is, if no COLOR statement exists in your
program, the system assumes:

The use of memory for color and monochrome
in medium-resolution mode is identical. The
modes differ only in that the two bits of a pixel
are interpreted differently by the hardware:
B/W medium resolution displays 4 shades. of
grey.
