The NW8204 is a powerful maintenance and diagnostic tool, which provides func-
tionalities for (but not limited to) the following:
 Downloading firmware;
 Setting IP addresses;
 Loading default configurations;
 Using available diagnostic files.
Note 1: Part of the NW8204 tool is available in Composer (limited functionality).
 For details, see the DMS8000 Network, Fire & Intrusion Connectivity Con-
figuration Guide (document no.A6V10062425).
Note 2: A similar maintenance and diagnostic tool is available on the Web. Note
that the Web server tool is available only if the NS8210 driver is installed.
 For details, see section 10.4 on p. 61.
 Pentium-class PC hardware, Windows XP Professional or higher compatible
 Ethernet network interface adapter (IEEE 802.3, 10Base-T or 100Base-TX)
 10 MB Free Disk Space
 128 MB RAM (recommended)
 Windows XP Professional or higher operating system
 Network Configuration including TCP/IP protocol
You can install the NW8204 tool when you install the DMS. You can also install it
separately on a different PC (such as a service PC) at a later time. If you are in-
stalling MK8000, you launch NW8204 by selecting the NW8204.exe file from the
following directory:
<InstallationDir> \ Communication Layer \ NK8210WebServer \ NW8204
For installation on a service PC, do the following:
1. Logon to computer as Administrator (for details ask the network administrator)
2. Insert the Installation CD
3. Select the NK8000 - Support Tools folder
4, Select NW8204.exe
Install Shield Wizard opens
5. Follow the instructions in the Installation Wizard
