After the pop-up has been closed while filling the pot,
the auto-vent valve should release air (you should be
able to hear the air venting).
The pot pressure gauge will not show pressure until
the auto-vent valve has bled all of the air and sealed.
If the auto-vent valve does not release air, or if water
leaks from the stem during the fill process, the stem
valve may be clogged or faulty.
Perform the following procedure to clean a clogged
auto-vent valve.
1. Try to push and quickly release the valve with
your finger. If that does not cause the valve to
seal, open the dump valve to release all of the
pressure in the pot.
2. Open the dump valve to relieve pot pressure.
Open the pop-up and drain the pot until the water
level is below the pop-up.
3. Turn the selector valve to RINSE.

4. Use the rinse hose to force water backwards into
the valve stem.

NOTE: If the previous steps fail to resolve the

issue, replace the whole valve assembly.

The valve stem itself is internally attached to the
float and it is not field-serviceable. Do not try to
remove the valve stem. Damage to the equipment
will occur.
