Configuration of the Ethernet Port

Before you can work with the Ethernet port, you must first set the parameters for
your network.
1. Open the Control Panel (Start->Settings ->Control Panel) and tap on the
"Network" icon.
2. Select "MOBIC OnBoard Ethernet" from the list of installed network drivers and
click the "Properties" button.
3. Set the network address in the "IP Address" tab.
Here, you have two options:
S "Obtain an IP address via DHCP" (most common configuration)
In this case there must be a DHCP server and a WINS server in the
network.
S "Specify an IP address"
Select this option is there is no DHCP server available.
S Select the "IP Address" box.
Here, you can enter the IP address. Please remember that the IP
address must be unique. Check with your network administrator.
S Select the "Subnet Mask" box.
Here you can enter the subnet mask for your IP address. Check with
your network administrator.
S Select the "Default Gateway" box.
Enter the address of the gateway. The gateway is necessary to gain
access to other networks (for example the Internet).
S Select the "Primary DNS" box in the "Name Servers" tab and enter the
address of the primary DNS. If in doubt, ask your network administrator.
S Select the "Primary WINS" box in the "Name Servers" tab and enter the
address of the primary WINS. If in doubt, ask your network administrator.
4. If there is no WINS server in the network, select the "Primary WINS" box in the
"Name Servers" tab and enter the address of your PC.
5. Confirm your entries with OK.
6. Reset your MOBIC by tapping on the "Reset" button in the "Miscellaneous" tab
of the MOBIC Configurator (warm reset). The new configuration is activated.
