Explanation: Gas control valve malfunction
(inlet solenoid).
Diagnostic Checks:

Gas control valve
Turn Power OFF. Remove
and reinsert connector K .
Operate unit.
Does 71 – Error Code
appear?
While unit is attempting to
ignite; check DC voltage
across Yellow & black wires
on connector K :
90 – 120 DC Volts
Operate unit.
IF 71 – Error Code appears:
Replace gas control valve.
71 – Error Code
Unit had a loose connection.
NO
Unit appears to be operating
Check connector K .
Operate unit again.
NO
IF 71 – Error Code appears:
Replace control board.
