Section 6 - System Operational Testing Overview An iQ Series generator must be operating and connected to the press/thruster in order to test the system. For efficient operation of a Dukane ultrasonic assembly system, the ultrasound signal from the generator must match the frequency (vibrational characteristics) of the stack that is being driven.
Page 102
1. Check the following: a. Make sure that the correct booster and horn for the application are installed in the thruster. b. Check the iQ Series system components for proper grounding. c. Check the ultrasound cable connections on the generator and thruster for proper seating and security.
Page 103
5. Turn the generator OFF. Check the stack for proper as- sembly, damaged components, or dirty mating surfaces. Recheck the ultrasound cable for proper connections. Repeat Steps 1 through 4. If the test still fails, go to the next step. Continued Page 97 Dukane Manual Part No. 403-584-01...
