INTRODUCTION

INSTALLER - SYSTEM PROGRAMMING USING THE KEYPAD

The following pages are a reference to the programming options for setting up the EL1SS using the keypad. The programming steps
below are used by the installer for initial set up (occasionally used by a resident). The programming options on pages 15-17 can be used
by the resident or installer. The unit's master code is used at the beginning of all owner/administrator level commands.
TIMING FOR PROGRAMMING ENTRIES
Programming that starts with the master code entry require that the string of digits are entered without a pause between master code
and programming step (The master code has dual functionality; it also acts as an entry code when it is entered by itself).

ENABLE INTERCOM (NO TELCO) MODE
Factory Setting: Disabled
Intercom Mode allows for communication between the unit
and a resident's phone without a telephone line (the system
generates its own signal).

ENABLE TELCO (NO INTERCOM) MODE
Factory Setting: Enabled
Telco Mode uses the residence's telephone line for the unit's
communications to the resident's phone(s) and/or to dial out
to the forwarded telephone number.

SPEAKER VOLUME
Factory Setting: Level 2
Allows the visitor to hear the resident at the unit,
1 = Low, 2 = Medium, 3 = High.
For proper adjustment under typical conditions (inside a
parked running car). Ask the resident to speak in a normal
tone. Adjust up or down as necessary.

MICROPHONE SENSITIVITY
Factory Setting: Level 2
Allows the resident to hear the visitor at the unit,
1 = Low, 2 = Medium, 3 = High.
For proper adjustment under typical conditions (inside a
parked running car using a normal voice tone), ask the
resident if the audio is appropriate. Adjust up or down as
necessary.
