Safety Note
To avoid distraction from the vehicle's
operation and the road, it is recom
mended that the driver NOT perform
any manual tuning operations while
the vehicle is in motion. Use the auto
matic station search operation or pre
set stations instead.
Push button tuning
Six FM stations and fo u r AM sta
tions can be stored in mem ory
and recalled by pressing the
appropriate buttons marked Q 3
through S 3 fo r FM or EZ3
through EZ3 fo r AM stations.
To store stations in memory
Any FM station frequency indicated
on the digital display can be stored on
any button marked QQ through S 3
by depressing the button desired and
holding it until the display has
changed from the " o ld " setting to a
" blank" and then to the new fre
quency to be stored.
Showing the " o ld " setting firs t allows
fo r reconsideration of the decision to
store. If it is desirable to leave the
" o ld " frequency in mem ory rather
than exchanging it with the " new "
one, quickly release the button. The
" o ld " frequency will remain in memory.
Any AM station can be stored
similarly on any button marked EZ1
through EEJ .
Stereo reception
The stereo indicator sym bol m w i
lights up if a stereo program is
received.
The radio is equipped w ith an
autom atic stereo/m ono sw itch that
electronically sw itches to m ono fo r
clear reception if a weak signal is
received. A special circu it provides
fo r a smooth change-over rather than
a hard sudden sw itching, thereby
reducing noise and interference.
The stereo indicator will remain lit
even if the receiver has changed to
the mono mode and will turn off at an
antenna signal considered insufficient
to provide acceptable reception
quality.
Im portant! Although FM is normally
static free, reception can be limited
by geographic and atm ospheric con
ditions, station strength and distance
from transm itter. Buildings or other
o b stru ctio n s can cause mom entary
static, flu tte r or station swapping. If
good reception cannot be obtained,
tune to a stronger station.

quality cassettes with a playback time
o f not more than 60 to 90 minutes
(C 60) or (C 90).

(tape side first, side " I" or " A " facing
up) through the cassette door. Push
the cassette in until it is locked in its
