A fader control, installed in the center console, allows fo r balancing the sound
level between the fro n t and rear speakers.
To adjust the tone characteristic
To set the radio to a " fla t" tone setting (bass and treble at mid-range setting),
briefly press both tone controls Q
Upon pressing either tone button, the tone level fo r that function (either bass P I
or treble Q
) will begin increasing. It stops increasing when the button is
released or when the maximum tone level is reached (approx. 2.5 seconds).
A fter reaching the maximum tone level, the tone control will stay at that level
unless the tone button is released and pressed again.
Once the tone button is pressed again the tone level will start decreasing. It will
stop decreasing when the button is released or when the minimum tone level is
reached (approx. 5 seconds).
A fter reaching the minimum tone level, the tone control will stay at that level
unless the tone button is released and pressed again. A fte r pressing the tone
button again the tone level will begin to increase and the cycle is repeated.
Note: It takes approx. 5 seconds to go from minimum tone level to maximum
tone level.

Press any of the buttons marked

the FM band.

To tune to a station
S tations can be tuned in by using
autom atic search, direct frequency
dialing, manual tuning, or by preset
push buttons. The frequency of the
station selected is indicated on the
digital display.
Automatic station search
Switch to the wave band desired by
pressing any of the follow ing buttons:
fo r FM, buttons Q 3 through S 3 .
fo r AM, buttons 0 3 through 0 3 .
By pressing the autom atic station
seeker bar
upward the
radio will search fo r stations in
ascending frequencies, by pressing
down it will do so in descending fre ­
quencies. The direction of automatic
searching can be reversed by press­
ing the bar
in the respec­
tive direction. In order to arrive at a
desired station w ithout stopping, the
bar has to be held in the desired
direction.
