Seat Belts and Emergency Tension

Your vehicle is equipped with seat
belts fo r all seats and em ergency te n
sioning retractors fo r front seats. The
tensioning retractors are located in
each b e lt's inertia reel and become
operationally ready with the key in
steering lock position " 1" or " 2".

W arning system:
The indicator is illuminated for
4 — 8 seconds after turning the steer
ing lock key to position " 2 " . If the
seat belt of the driver's seat is not
fastened a warning buzzer sounds
simultaneously.
Fastening:
•
Pull belt with latch plate (1) over
shoulder and lap. Do not tw ist the
belt doing this.
•
Push latch plate (1) into buckle (2)
until it clicks.
A djust fro nt seat belts so as to
have the upper belt located as
near as possible to the middle of
the shoulder. For this purpose,
push button (4) and raise or lower
belt outlet (3 positions).
The belt m ust be pulled snug and
checked fo r snugness immedia
tely after engaging it and during
driving. If necessary, tighten the
lap portion to a snug fit by pulling
shoulder portion up.
