File-Sharing Elements
The single server implementations NAS e7000 v2 supports several file-sharing
protocols, including CIFS, NFS, FTP, HTTP, NCP, and AppleTalk. On each
persistent storage manager element, folder or logical storage element, different
file-sharing protocols can be enabled using specific network names for access
across a network to a variety of clients.
Note:
only supported under Windows file shares (CIFS).
Permissions can then be granted to those shares based on users or groups of users
in each of the file-sharing protocols. Refer to the administration guide for more
details on file system elements.
Clustered Server Elements
The NAS e7000 v2 supports several file-sharing protocols, including CIFS, NFS,
FTP, HTTP, NCP, and AppleTalk. Only CIFS, NFS, and FTP are cluster aware
protocols. NCP, HTTP, and AppleTalk can be installed on each node but the
protocols can not be setup through cluster administrator nor will they failover
during a node failure. Using Cluster Administrator, on each persistent storage
management element, folder or logical storage element, different file-sharing
protocols can be enabled by creating specific cluster resources.

may also be established for access across a network to a variety of clients.
