9 Troubleshooting

Your MIDLAND G2 is designed to give you years of trouble free
use. In the event of a problem please consult the following chapter
before you contact a local service centre.

9. Troubleshooting table

Problem
Possible cause
Radio does not switch on
Flat batteries or incorrectly positioned
Radio turns off after it has

been switched on
Batteries do not charge
Battery charger not properly connected or batteries
not positioned correctly
You are trying to charge AA batteries with the table
charger
Radio can switch on but does
Radio is positioned in an out of reception spot

Volume level too low

Monitor function enabled

Solution
Check that the batteries are charged and correctly
positioned
If you use alkaline batteries (not rechargeable), change
them, otherwise if you use NiMH batteries hem.
Check battery connection and/or the position of the
batteries
Change the batteries with the battery pack
Move to a more open space
Regulate the volume
Check that CTCSS or DCS is the same as the one set
by the other party
Disable monitor
Select the same channel as the other party
Move to a more favourable spot
Check that CTCSS or DCS is the same as the one set
by the other party
