User Manual. Once you have AlphaSmart Manager installed, follow these steps. 1. If you have received a new SmartApplet, close AlphaSmart Manager if it is already running. 2. If you have a single NEO, use the USB cable that came with your NEO to connect it to your computer.
The SmartApplets are not deleted, but they are not available. (To delete SmartApplets, see page 1-5.) There are two ways to disable SmartApplets: you can change the settings in AlphaSmart Manager, or you can disable SmartApplets on the NEO itself. You’ll find both procedures below.

To turn file passwords on using the Control Panel AlphaWord settings, you need the master password. (You can set the master password for NEOs using AlphaSmart Manager. If you want to use the default master password, contact Technical Support to get the password.) If you turn file passwords on, whenever you press one of the file keys or open a file, you will be asked to enter the file password.

This chapter contains information about common Beamer issues. I want to change a set ting, but I don’t know the master password. See the AlphaSmart Manager User Manual for information about changing the master password. I don’t see the Send option on my Beamer screen.
If you don’t know the file password(s), you can enter the master password instead. You can find out more about file passwords (including disabling them for a NEO) and master passwords on page 4-4 or in the AlphaSmart Manager User Manual.
It automatically put it in a new file. What happened? What likely happened is that AlphaWord Plus on your AlphaSmart device hadn’t been “initialized,” meaning it hadn’t set itself up yet to receive beamed files.
LPHA The AlphaQuiz SmartApplet allows students to take quizzes on their NEOs. You can use the QuizDesigner program on your computer to create the quiz; then, you can use the QuizManager program to send quizzes to NEOs and receive and score their answers for automatic grading and reporting. Quizzes can include true/false, multiple-choice, short answer, and essay questions.

Downloading and Installing QuizDesigner and QuizManager Windows Instructions for Downloading and Installing QuizDesigner and QuizManager 1. Go to http://www.alphasmart.com/support/downloads.html. 2. Under the NEO downloads, next to “AlphaQuiz SmartApplet System,” click PC. If your browser allows you to choose what to do with the file, choose to save it and choose a common location.
