7.3 Lamp Replacement

The source lamp operates at high temperatures. To avoid a
possible electric shock, disconnect the instrument from the power
source before servicing the lamp. Make sure that the instrument
cannot be accidentally switched on again.
To prevent a possible burn, allow the lamp to cool at least
30 minutes before handling.
CAUTION
If the instrument has been in use, wait until the lamp cools
down. Contact with the hot lamp can cause burns.
1. Remove the cell from the cell compartment, if necessary.
2. Switch the instrument off.
3. Unplug the power cord.
4. Turn the instrument over carefully and place it on a soft surface.
5. Use a screwdriver to remove the screw from the cover.
6. Remove the cover.
7. Remove the battery, if installed
8. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws from the
lamp housing

9. Carefully lift the lamp housing from the instrument.
10. Carefully remove both knurled screws
11. Remove the halogen lamp with the plug panel.
12. Carefully unplug the halogen lamp from the plug panel.
Important Note: Hold the lamp by the base only. To prolong lamp
life, do not touch the glass.
13. Plug a new halogen lamp (Cat. No. LZV565) into the
plug panel.
14. Insert the halogen lamp into the lamp housing with the rounded
part of the lamp base pointing down.
15. Secure the lamp firmly with the two knurled screws.
16. Carefully insert the lamp housing into the instrument.
17. Use a screwdriver to replace the screws securing the
lamp fitting.
18. Reinstall the battery and cover, see
19. Use a screwdriver to replace the screw securing the cover.
20. Carefully stand the instrument upright.
21. Plug in the power supply. The Instrument is now ready for use.
