Changing the base PIN

The base PIN is used to prevent unauthorised changes to
your base system settings. For example, the base PIN
must be entered before the base lock can be activated, a
new handset registered, and hot key or emergency num-
bers stored.
Call the menu.
Select and confirm.
Enter the base PIN (factory setting 0000) and confirm.
Enter the new base PIN (max. 8 digits) and confirm.
Enter the new base PIN again and save it. The message
"New PIN stored" appears if the base PIN has been suc-
cessfully changed.

Memorise the new base PIN well! The station will
have to be opened if you forget it. Contact the Sie-
mens Telephone Service in this case, see also page
128.

Hot key selection

You can disable your telephone for outgoing calls and still
permit a saved hot key number to be dialled. All your child
has to do, for example, is to press this key in order to con-
tact you.

To enable the hot key number to be dialled from the
base station telephone or handset when the base
lock is active, the hot key number must be the same
as the emergency number of the base station tele-
phone.

Setting up a hot key number

You can only set up one hot key number.
Call the menu.
Select and confirm.
Enter the base PIN (factory setting 0000) and confirm.
This menu item is highlighted if a hot key number is al-
ready set up.
Enter the hot key number.
Open the supplementary menu.
Select and confirm.

If your phone is operated at a telephone system:
don't forget the prefix code number(s) (see also
page 136)!

Activating hot key selection

Call the menu.
Select and confirm.
Enter the base PIN (factory setting 0000) and confirm.
The display is highlighted when this function is active.
To switch the setting:
Activate/deactivate the function.

A hot key can only be selected when the base lock
is active if the hot key number is the entered emer-
gency number. See also the operating instructions
for your handset.
