Your trimmer is supplied with a fully disposable trimmer
spool (19) which overcomes troublesome rewinding the
cutting line (20).
Disconnect the machine from the main supply.
Ensure that you are on a flat surface and have
secure footing.
Turn the machine upside down with the safety
guard (6) facing upwards.
Press the spool cap button (17) on the spool cap
(18) and boost it up out of the spool holder (7). Then
remove the trimmer spool (19) out and clean out the
spool holder (7).
Put the new trimmer spool (19) into the spool holder
(7).
Insert the two ends of the cutting line (20) through
the spool holder eyelets (21) and put the trimmer spool
(19) into the box. Press the spool cap (18) into the spool
holder (7) and lock into place by cap release latch.
Pull out the ends of the cutting line (20) until they
reach the outside edge of the safety guard (6).
CAUTION! After changing the trimmer
spool (19), run the trimmer under no
load for at least a minute to make
sure that the cutting line (20) and
the tool are both operating correctly.
Use only the trimmer spool (19) as
recommended by the manufacturer.
Alternatively, you can also order 1.5 mm thick nylon line
in the specialist trade and wind this onto the trimmer
spool yourself. Please absolutely ensure, in this case,
that you wind on not more than 2 x 5 m of line and
that you wind this in parallel into the two line conduits -
opposite the motor rotation direction. The motor rotation
direction is marked on the protective spool cover with
an arrow.
Replacing a new cutting line (20) [F10]
Take the protective spool cover out (if included)
of the trimmer spool (19) by using a tool, such as
screwdriver.
Thread the two ends of the new cutting line (20)
through the trimmer spool eyelets (22) separately.
Rewind the cutting line (20) as the arrow, then put
both ends of the cutting line (20) into the slots (23) to
prevent the cutting lines (20) from coming loose.
Thread the two ends of the cutting line (20) in the
protective spool holder eyelets (21).
Put the protective spool cover (if included) to wrap
the trimmer spool (19) and cover the cutting line (20).
Advancing the cutting line (20)
Check the cutting line (20) regularly if it is damaged.
Short or worn cutting lines (20) cut less efficiently.
NOTE: Hitting hard and abrasive objects, such as
fences, concrete and rocks within and around long
grass may cause the cutting line (20) to disappear and
can be easily advanced from the trimmer spool (19) by
following these simple instructions.
Regulating the cutting line (20)
Tap the head of the motor frame (9) lightly on the
ground while the trimmer is running at full speed. This
will automatically supply extra cutting line (20).
The line cutter (24) situated under the safety guard
(6) will automatically trim the cutting line (20) to the
correct length during operation.
NOTE: the fresh cutting line (20) will be advanced only
if cutting line (20) is still at least 2,5 cm.
Check the line cutter (24). Do not employ the device
under any circumstances without line cutter (24) or
with defective line cutter (24). If the line cutter (24) is
damaged or is broken off, it is absolutely necessary
that you refer to one of our service stations
Clean the line cutter (24) from grass and debris on
a regular basis to avoid any influence of the cutting
effect.
If the cutting line (20) is shorter than 2,5 cm:
Switch off the trimmer and disconnect plug from
power supply.
Press in the trimmer spool (19) and pull the end of
the cutting line (20) firmly outwards.
If the end of the cutting line (20) is not visible:
Replace the trimmer spool (19).
