Firmware upgrade

Upgrading the IOP-2 firmware
The IOP-2 contains firmware that can be upgraded by the user using the files available on
the Siemens Service and Support website at the link below.
To perform the upgrade of the IOP-2 firmware the following steps should be performed:
1. Plug the IOP-2 into a PC using the USB connection.
2. The IOP-2 will automatically enter the "Mass Storage" mode.
3. Open the file explorer on the PC.
4. Navigate to the IOP-2 folder.
5. You can either delete the files but it is suggested that you perform a Format of the IOP-2,
as this speeds up the file transfer of the new files. It is important that the Allocation unit
size 2048 bytes. If the Allocation unit size is changed to any other value the IOP-2 will not
work correctly.
6. Go to the Service and Support site at the link below.
7. Download the firmware file(s) to a folder on the PC.
8. Copy the downloaded file(s) from the PC directly into the IOP-2 folder (the copying
process takes approximate 6 minutes).
9. When the copying has been completed, wait approximate 5 seconds before
disconnecting the IOP-2 from the USB port.
10.The IOP-2 can now be connected to the converter and powered up.
11.The IOP-2 will then perform the upgrade automatically.
Note
English language is mandatory
The English language file is essential to the correct functioning of the IOP-2 and therefore
cannot be deleted.
