Side electrode
1. Whenever a new spark plug is installed,
the gap must be checked and adjusted
properly. Use a wire feeler gauge to
check the gap, and adjust the gap by
bending the side electrode gently.
2.
Be sure to clean the gasket surface and
threads before installing the spark plug.
Torque the plug to specification.
Spark plug torque:
25 Nm (2.5 m·kg, 18 ft·lb)
NOTE:
If a torque wrench is not available when you
are installing a spark plug, a good estimate of
the correct torque is

turns past
finger tight. Have the spark plug torque to the
correct value as soon as possible with a torque
wrench.
