    BASIC HOOKUP METHODS Use one of these methods to connect a signal to your TV. Select 1a—if you have cable service and a VCR, 1b—if you have a cable box and a VCR, 1c—if you have an outdoor or indoor QuickTips antenna and a VCR, or 1d—if you have a satellite dish and a VCR.

Objects between the remote and the equipment may cause misopera- tion of the remote control function. Make sure batteries have been installed correctly. If the remote control does not work: Press TV key (see item 1).

    CLOSED-CAPTIONING Captioning is textual information transmitted along with the picture and sound so it can be displayed on the TV screen. Because different types of captions can be transmitted with the TV signal, separate captioning modes are provided. The captioning modes recognized by this model are: Caption1, Caption2, Text1, and Text2.

    PICTURE-IN-PICTURE (PIP) OPERATION For PIP to function you must connect two signals to the TV. (Use the TV’s 75 ohm input and A/V inputs.) Connect VCR (or other accessory equipped with a video output jack) to the QuickTips TV’s audio video jacks as shown on page 12. If you are using a satellite dish, you must connect two receivers or a cable system or antenna with the satellite to use the PIP feature (see PIP window is black page 13).

    USING THE QUIKFREEZE KEY QUIKFREEZE Press the key to instantly stop an image for a longer view. A still image will be shown (displayed) in the small PIP window. Use the QuikFreeze to hold an advertised phone number or address on the screen until the viewer collects the information.
