Setting Up the Audio Options

You can connect the DVD-R155 to an external audio amplifi er or a
Home Theater system.
This allows you to setup the audio device and sound status settings
depending on the audio system in use.
1. With the unit in Stop mode/No Disc mode, press the MENU button on
the remote control.
2. Select Setup using the ▲▼ buttons, then press the ENTER or ►
button.
3. Select Audio using the ▲▼ buttons, then press the ENTER or ►
button.
4. Select the sub menu(Digital Output, DTS, Dynamic Compression)
using the ▲▼ buttons, then press the ENTER or ► button.
Select the item that matches the audio connection you've selected
on pages 20~22.
Digital Output
• PCM : Converts to PCM(2CH) 48kHz audio.
Select PCM if your amplifi er system supports stereo and/or Dolby
Prologic.
• Bitstream : Outputs Bitstream.
Select Bitstream if your amplifi er system supports multi channel digital
audio surround decoding such as Dolby Digital and/or DTS.
DTS
• On : Outputs DTS bitstream. (via Digital Audio Output)
Select DTS when connecting to a digital amp with a DTS decoder.
• Off : Doesn't output DTS bitstream.
• When a DTS soundtrack is played, sound is not output from the Analog Audio
Output.
Dynamic Compression
This is only active when a Dolby Digital signal is detected.
• On : When movie soundtracks are played at low volume or from small
speakers, the system can apply appropriate compression to make low-
level content more intelligible and prevent dramatic passages from
getting too loud.
• Off : You can enjoy the movie with standard Dynamic Range.
5. Select the desired item(PCM, Bitstream, DTS-Off, DTS-On, Dynamic
Compression-Off or Dynamic Compression-On) using the ▲▼
buttons
Then press the ENTER or ► button.
