Metering

The metering mode refers to the way in which a camcorder measures the quantity of light. The
brightness and lighting of your photos will vary depending on the metering mode you select.
PRECHECK!
Select the Photo record (
1. Touch the Menu (
submenu item.
2. To exit the menu, touch the Return (
Submenu items
• Multi ( ): Meters the light by calculating the amount of light from
different areas in the frame. Suitable for normal image capture.
• Center ( ): The amount of light metered on the center of the frame
influences the whole screen. Suitable for capturing people as the
subject occupies a large portion of the frame.
• Spot ( ): Measures only the center of the screen and determines
aperture. Use this function when there is a very large brightness
difference between background and objects.

xvYCC

Using the xvYCC function, you can record a video with an extended range of colors by
expanding the camcorder's color space. You can record a video of mulit-hued flowers in more
vibrant color.

2. To exit the menu, touch the Return (
Submenu items
• Off: Disables the function.
• On ( ): Records images with more vivid and various colors.
You can enjoy the recorded xvYCC video under optimal conditions when playing it back on the TV
that supports xvYCC. Refer to the TV's manual for details.
