Scanning Problems

Problem
Document will not scan into
memory.
The unit scans slowly.
"There is no document or
the document is loaded
improperly. Insert the
document properly and try
again" message appears on
the screen.
"Scanner is busy receiving
or printing data. When the
current job is completed, try
again'" message appears on
the screen.
"Memory is not enough to
save the scan image. Close
all applications that are not
necessary and retry"
message appears on the
screen.

Troubleshooting
Possible Cause and Remedy
• Ensure the document to be scanned is loaded properly.
• There may be sufficient memory to store the document.
• Graphics are scanned more slowly than text.
• Communication speed becomes slow in scan mode
because more memory is required to analyze and
reproduce the scanned image. Setting your computer to
ECP mode through the BIOS setting will increase the
speed. For details on how to set BIOS, refer to the
documentation that came with your computer.
Insert the document properly and push it down until the
feeder grips the document.
The scanner may be currently copying or faxing. When the
current job is complete, try again.
There is not enough memory to save the scanned image.
Exit all applications currently open to save memory.
