Getting ready to use the R-1

Connecting headphones

Here's how to connect headphones.

Turn off the power of the R-1.

Turn the output volume all the way toward the left to minimize the volume.

Connect your headphones to the headphone jack.
Now you can use the R-1 to record or play back as described in "Basic recording
methods" (p. 29) or "Playback methods" (p. 38).
Even if the song (file) was recorded at an appropriate recording level, you may hear
distortion or crackling during loud passages of the song if the output volume is too
high.
