The
TS-820 has
been
fac tory
sligned
and tested
to
specifications before delivery to the customer. Under
nor-
mal crrcumstances the transceiver
will
be
properly adjusted
to
operate
in
accordance with these operating instructions.
In
fa ct.
the equipment owner
can
void the
transceiver's
war-
ranty
by
attempt
ing
service
or
alignment
without permission
from
the
fac
tory.
When operated
properly, the
transceiver
can
give years of
service w ith out
requiring
realignment.
The
information
in
thrs
sec
t1
on.
some
general
servi
ce
procedures
w
hich can
be
accomplished
w
ithout sophistica
ted
test
equipment.
REMOVING
THE CAB
IN
ET
(See
Fig.
23)
Figure 2

shows how to
remove
the
TS-820's
cabinet.
Re-
move the
eight top
cover screws
and
the
nine
bottom
cover
screws and lift away the
panels.
The speaker
leads
will still
be attached
to
the
chassis so be careful
when removing
the
top
cover.
The leads can be unplugged. if necessary.
