Getting Started

Turning the power on/off

Press M
N for about 2 seconds.
R The phone vibrates when you turn the power on.
Note:
R Enter the PIN1 code and press M
(page 34).
R The display becomes dark when you do not operate the phone for about 1 minute. Press any
key to turn the display back on.

Initial settings

The phone may prompt you to set display language, time zone, and
date and time each time a new SIM card is installed.

MbN: Select the desired language. a M

Enter the current date, month, and year. a M

Note:
R If you select a language you cannot read:

R If you want to change the date and/or time format, see page 46.
R To adjust the hour for summer time, see page 46.
Display font size
Press M N or M N to adjust the font size of displayed menus.
Note:
R You cannot adjust the display font size while you are on a call or the phone is ringing for an
incoming call.
Changing the ringer tone
You can change the ringer tone by selecting one of the preset
tones ("Using a preset ringer tone", page 11) or by selecting one
of your own sound files (including sounds recorded using the phone'
