• Even when the appliance is switched off, the inside
of the appliance is live as long as the power plug is
plugged into the socket.
• Unplug the power plug before removing or inserting
the water tank.
• Always unplug the appliance from the socket after
use.
• If a dangerous situation or defect occurs, unplug
the appliance from the socket immediately. For this
reason, make sure that the socket, to which the
appliance is connected, is easily accessible at all
times.
• Unplug the power plug from the socket before you
clean or carry out maintenance work on the appli-
ance, or during assembly or disassembly.
• Never remove screws from the appliance to open it
and never carry out any technical modifications.
• The appliance is only disconnected from the mains
if the power plug is unplugged.

Risk of scalding

The appliance heats up water. This poses a risk of
scalding.
• Do not place parts of the body under the outlet
while the appliance is in operation.
• A soiled outlet can cause hot liquid or steam to
spray out. Make sure that the outlet is clean.
• Never open the maintenance lid during operation.
• Be careful when emptying the drip tray since the
water contained therein may be hot.
• Only operate the appliance when the drip tray and
the inner drip container are correctly inserted.
• Do not remove the brewing unit during or shortly
after the preparation of a beverage.
• In case of empty water tank during the preparation
of a beverage the item continues the brewing pro-
cess automatically after filling the water tank.
