2-1-2. Media Feed Mechanism
The major components of the media feed mechanism are:
(a) Motor SA
(b) Platen SA
(c) Gear train
By setting the head block to the down position, media is pushed against the Platen SA by the Head
SA.
As the Motor SA (stepping motor) turns counterclockwise viewing from the right side of the printer,
the Platen SA turns counterclockwise via the gear train (PF1 Gear, PF2 Gear and PF Idle Gear)
and media is fed forward by the friction force produced between the Platen SA and the Head SA.
When the Motor SA turns clockwise, media is fed backwards.
One step of the Motor SA feeds media by 1/16 mm (0.0025").
