Standard Front Control Panel Replacement (R2308WFxxx)

7.4.1

Standard Front Control Panel Removal (R2308WFxxx)

1.
Power off the system and remove all power cords.
2.
Remove the system top cover (see Section 2.2.1).
3.
Remove the air duct (see Section 2.3.1).
4.
Remove the system fan assembly (see Section 2.4.1).
5.
From the server board, disconnect the round black front panel USB cable, 14-pin gray front panel video
ribbon cable, and the 30-pin gray front panel ribbon cable.
6.
From the hotswap backplane, disconnect the 2x2-pin backplane power cable, all cables connected to
the mini-SAS HD connectors, and the I2C cable.
7.
Identify and remove the bottom four drive carriers from the drive bay.
8.
Remove the eight screws from the top of the drive bay (see Letter 'A').
9.
From the back side of the drive bay module, carefully push it out towards the front of the chassis (see
Letter 'B').
Note: As the module slides out from the chassis, the retention clip found on the front bottom edge of the
drive bay module will disengage. When loose, remove and set it aside for re-installation.
