Introduction
Welcome to the exciting world of the NuVo Player Portfolio. Now your favorite music
anywhere you want it, anytime you want it is as close as the touch of a button on the
NuVo Wireless Controller or any of your Apple or Android Wi-Fi enabled portable
devices. T rue high fidelity music from your own personal library or streaming from
the Internet, is more affordable and accessible than you ever imagined.
The Player Portfolio has the flexibility of two amplified Wireless Players that easily
connect to the home's network through the NV-GW100 dual band gateway. The
setup is quick and the communication is very robust. In addition, the NV-P3100 is a
rack mountable component that connects directly to the network and provides a
"hardwired" solution that is perfect for installations that already have traditionally
installed speakers.

  • Page 7 NV-P3100 Features 1. Ethernet: The NV-P3100 is designed to connect directly to the network. The second port enables multiple P3100’s to share the same network connection within one system. 2. Speaker: This modular connection provides a maximum 40 watt stereo amplified signal to the connected speakers.

Setup/Installation 1.1 Network requirements A live Internet connection is not necessary for basic functionality and accessing music that is stored on a hard drive on the network, but keep in mind that a live access to the Internet is necessary at initial setup. The Player System does use the web to verify the user license associated with each Player being installed and will automatically check for updates to the firmware and software.
  • Page 9 Fig. 2 The Gateway has five Ethernet ports and acts as a standard Ethernet switch. Simply connect a CAT 5 with a standard RJ45 modular plug into one of the five ports on the back of the Gateway and connect the other end into an available port on the back of the installation’s router, as shown in fig.
  • Page 10 Fig. 4 1.3 Using the Zone Player Ethernet Connection Each NV-P100 and NV-P200 Zone Player has an individual Ethernet port. This port allows a standard four twisted pair wire, either CAT 5 or CAT6, terminated with a modular RJ45 plug to “ hardwire” the Player directly to the System’s Gateway or network router, as shown in fig 5.

New System Setup 2.1 Launching the control app Initial setup of the Player Portfolio can be done from either the NV-CR100 Wireless Controller or from the Apple or Android device app. Note that the app must first be downloaded from either the Apple App Store or the Android Marketplace to your device prior to system setup.
  • Page 12 2.2 Connecting the NuVo NV-CR100 Controller to the Gateway Once the Gateway is physically connected to the network you need to connect the NuVo Controller to the Gateway. This is done from the control app. The Controller will prompt you to physically connect the Gateway, see 1.2 Connecting the Gatew ay to the Network.
  • Page 13 2.4 Join My Existing System If you are controlling the system with a third party smart phone or tablet and you have downloaded an app that has never been associated with an existing system, you will be prompted to join the existing system. Once the process is complete it will not be necessary to repeat.
