18 After Finishing Work

► Guide the garden shears parallel to the ground (see
illustration above).
► Move forward slowly.
Observe all applicable laws, regulations, standards and
ordinances.

18.1 Preparing for Transportation or Storage

WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury from unintended
activation or unauthorized use, switch off the motor, ensure
the cutting blades have stopped and remove the battery
before transporting the garden shears or putting them down.
To prepare the garden shears for transportation or storage:
► Switch off the garden shears, @ 15.2.
► Remove the battery, @ 14.2.
► Slide a blade scabbard over the cutting blades so that it
covers the entire cutting attachment.
► If the garden shears or battery became wet during
operation, allow them to dry completely before charging or
storing.

19.1 Garden Shears

WARNING
Cover the entire length of the cutting blades with a blade
scabbard before transporting or storing the garden shears to
reduce the risk of cut injuries from inadvertent contact.
When transporting the garden shears:
► Slide a blade scabbard over the cutting blades so that it
covers the entire cutting attachment.
► When transporting the garden shears by hand, hold them
by the handle. Avoid contact with the cutting attachment.
► When transporting the garden shears in a vehicle, cover
the entire length of the cutting attachment with a blade
scabbard and insert the shears securely in the HSA 25
carrying bag. Secure and position the garden shears to
prevent turnover, impact and damage.
Your garden shears come standard with two blade
scabbards, one for the shrub blades and one for the grass
blades.
19.2 Battery
WARNING
To reduce the risk of a short circuit, which could lead to
electric shock, fire and explosion, never transport the battery
in a metal container or near metal objects (e.g., paper clips,
nails, coins, keys), @ 7.
When transporting the battery:
► Place the battery the HSA 25 carrying bag or in a non-
metal container or carton and secure it against impact or
damage. Never transport the battery in a metal or other
container that is capable of conducting electricity, or near
metal objects (e.g., paper clips, nails, coins, keys).
► If you are transporting the battery in a vehicle, secure it
and its container to prevent turnover, impact and damage.
