not report the alarm to VistaREPORTER (if the GC is configured to send reports to
VistaREPORTER);
not report the alarm to the printer (if the GC is configured to send reports to a printer);
report the alarm to the OPC Server (if the GC is configured to send reports to the OPC Server).
The purpose of the Indicate setting is not to invalidate the data but to notify the control system that
the event has occurred. Events suggested for this setting are digital inputs from third-party analyzers
that need to have their data passed to the control system but that should not affect the validation of
the GC data. Example: an analyzer that has a common malfunction alarm that you want to pass to
the control system using the GCC as a pass through device.
Warning
When the Alarm Mask screen has "Warning" selected for a given alarm, an alarm condition will:
appear in the alarm pane of all connected RUIs;
set the Modbus coil to active (if the alarm has a designated Modbus coil) but will not set the
associated Data Valid for reported stream to 0;
report the alarm to VistaSTORAGE (if the GC is configured to send reports to VistaSTORAGE);
report the alarm to VistaREPORTER (if the GC is configured to send reports to
VistaREPORTER);
report the alarm to the printer (if the GC is configured to send reports to a printer);
report the alarm to the OPC Server (if the GC is configured to send reports to the OPC Server).
The purpose of the Warning setting is not to invalidate the data but to notify all users that an event
has occurred in the GC that requires attention. Events suggested for this setting are low standard
sample, communication errors, retention time and component concentration limits, and any event that
requires user notification but does not invalidate analysis results.
To verify or change the alarm mask settings:
1. On the Background screen press the F1 (Exit to Commands) soft key.
2. On the Commands screen, cursor to MISC. and press the F2 (Control Parameters) soft key.
