Disable the Device Lock Feature

Open the WD Security software.

the one with the password that you want to remove to display the "EDIT
SECURITY SETTINGS" dialog box.

Five Invalid Password Attempts

After five invalid attempts to unlock your WD device through the WD Security software, you
have two options:
▪ Disconnect the device from the computer system, then reconnect the device to the
computer system and attempt to unlock the unit with an acceptable password.
▪ Erase the drive – this process will erase all data from the device, including the password
and it will unlock the device. If you choose this option, go to the
