Configuring the TFTP server

8.9.3.1 Constraints concerning the use of TFTP servers
The different TFTP servers proposed, due to their combination with ToIP applications, are limited in
terms of number of simultaneous connections.
On the other hand, the time to update the phone in automatic mode, using the 'auto resync mode'
and 'auto resync time' instructions in the configuration file aastra.cfg ou @MAC.cfg, must be set to
30 min.
These two parameters must, therefore, be taken into consideration while designing a solution with
SIP phones.
If the total number of daily TFTP transfers possible with one of the proposed TFTP servers is not
enough in terms of the number of SIP phones to deploy, you have to make provisions for a TFTP
server on a third-party PC that meets the need.
Add a random duration of 0 to 15 minutes to the programmed update time to avoid sending a large
number of simultaneous requests to the TFTP server.
IPS card TFTP server:
The number of simultaneous transfers is limited to 5, that is 10 phones per hour.
The IPS card TFTP server can handle a maximum of 240 phones in a day.
TFTP server provided with NCS:
The number of simultaneous transfers is limited to 100, that is 200 phones per hour.
The IPS card TFTP server can handle a maximum of 4800 phones in a day.
NSAP TFTP server:
The number of simultaneous transfers is limited to 100, that is 200 phones per hour.
The NSAP TFTP server can handle a maximum of 4800 phones in a day.
