Installing 3.5" Fixed Hard Drives

One 3.5" hard drive may be installed. Refer to Figures 6-4.
Installing 3.5" Hard Drive
The 3.5" hard drive screws directly into the chassis.
1. Power down the system as described in Section 6-2 and remove the cover.
2. Place the hard drives into the chassis, as illustrated in figure 6-4. Orient a single
drive with the cable connections facing the rear of the chassis.
3. Secure the hard drive to the chassis floor by inserting the screws up through
the underside of the chassis.
4. Connect the hard drive wiring.
5. Reinstall the chassis cover and power cord and then power up the server.

Installing 2.5" Fixed Hard Drives

One to four 2.5" hard drives may be installed in several different configurations.
Refer to Figures 6-3 and Figure 6-5.
Installing Fixed 2.5" Hard Drives
6. Power down the system as described in Section 6-2 and remove the cover.
7. Install the hard drives into the hard drive brackets and secure them to the bracket
with the screws provided.
8. Place the hard drives and brackets into the chassis as illustrated in Figure 6-3
or Figure 6-5. Orient two or more drives with the cable connections facing the
inside of the chassis.
9. Secure the hard drive brackets to the chassis floor by inserting the screws up
through the underside of the chassis.
10. Connect the hard drive wiring.
11. Reinstall the chassis cover and power cord, then power up the server.
Note: Bracket ordering information: for single drive height, MCP-220-00051-0N; for
double drive height, MCP-220-00044-0N.
