Operating Problems; The Fluorescent Lamp Does Not Come On - Epson PERFECTION 1640 SU Reference Manual

Fatal error
This type of error indicates one or the following problems:
❏ The fluorescent lamp needs to be replaced.
❏ The transportation lock is not released.
❏ The scanner is malfunctioning.
Make sure that the transportation lock is in the unlocked position;
then turn the scanner off and then back on again. If this does not
correct the problem, consult your dealer.

Operating Problems

Problems you may have while using the scanner often involve the
operation of your software and computer. Operation problems
usually occur because of:
❏ Incorrect setup of the interface (see your Startup Guide).
❏ Incorrect setup of your computer or software (see your Startup
Guide).
❏ Incorrect operation of your software (see your software
documentation).
Also see the documentation that came with your computer and
scanner for possible solutions.

The fluorescent lamp does not come on.

❏ Press the P Operate button to turn on the scanner.
❏ Make sure the power cord is connected to the scanner and
plugged into an electrical outlet.
