7.2.2
Interactive mode
In "Interactive mode" the TV is controlled by an external STB /
DCM. Available communication protocols are: HM Link,
SmartPort Xpress, and Serial Xpress.
SmartPort Xpress is based on a I2C or SPI physical
interface, and provides advanced bidirectional
communication with the TV set like TV control commands,
TV status requesting, etc.
In this mode, the TV works as a slave towards DCM. Local
control commands (keyboard and RC) are forwarded to the
DCM. Communication is bidirectional: DCM can send
commands and also request data from the TV
SerialXpress is based on a RS232 physical interface and
provides basic bidirectional communication with the TV set.
Local control commands (keyboard and RC) can be
forwarded to the DCM or processed by the TV set.
HM link protocol is based on RC commands and provides
basic TV control.
In HM link mode, the TV can be controlled by RC
commands sent from the DCM. The TV will handle system
0 and system 3 commands coming only from the RJ12
connector. It will not decode system 0 or system 3 from the
IR receiver input. System 7 commands will be processed
directly by the TV via the receiver input, so Setup Menu is
still available.
Interface card
"Smartcard" TV sets are equipped with an integrated card slot
that provides a carrier for interface cards. Communication
protocols available in this configuration: SmartPort Xpress SPI
or I2C, Serial Xpress.
External STB
Third party STBs can be connected using following
communication protocols: HM-Link, Serial Xpress, or
SmartPort Xpress SPI (I2C is not supported for external STB).

PSU
All PSUs are so-called IPBs (Integrated Power Boards). That
are PSUs with integrated LCD inverters.
The power supplies are a black box for Service. When
defective, a new panel must be ordered and the defective one
must be returned, unless the main fuse of the panel is broken.
Always replace a defective fuse with one with the correct
specifications! This part is available in the regular market.
For an overview of the output voltages of the Power Supplies,
refer to the wiring diagrams in chapter
7.3.1
External Applications Supply
All models have an integrated power supply. These supplies
also supply for interactive applications. The following supply
lines are available: on RJ48 connector: +12V and on 32pin
connector: +12V, +5V and +3.3V (for details see specifications
of connectors). When power consumption does not exceed
maximum output power offered by the TV, there is no need to
use external adaptor and only one mains socket is needed.
3rd party STB and modules not using the TV's internal power
supply may require an additional mains socket or use power
splitter.
