Authentication Does Not Work Properly

This section explains what to do if a user cannot operate the machine because of a problem related to user
authentication. Refer to this section if a user comes to you with such a problem.

A Message Appears

This section explains how to deal with problems if a message appears on the screen during user
authentication.
The most common messages are explained. If some other message appears, deal with the problem
according to the information contained in the message.

Cause
The authority to use the function
is not specified.
Solutions
• If this appears when trying
to use a function: The
function is not specified in
the Address Book
management setting as
being available. The user
administrator must decide
whether to authorize use of
the function and then assign
the authority.
• If this appears when trying
to specify a default setting:
The administrator differs
depending on the default
settings you wish to specify.
Using the list of settings, the
administrator responsible
must decide whether to
authorize use of the
function.
