9. Note for battery replacement
Batteries used in the Organizer:

The standard built-in clock and world city clock are powered by the
operating batteries.
Before replacing the battery, be sure to press Ic)FFJ to
power off.
Do not replace the memory backup battery while the operating
batteries are not in the Organizer or when they are depleted.
When the operating batteries become weak and you turn the
power on, " m " will be displayed and the following display
If the batteries become weaker, the power may go off during
operation. The memory contents will still be retained by the
memory backup battery. Replace the operating batteries to avoid
loss or alteration of data.
Do not remove both the operating and memory backup batteries at
the same time. All the data stored in the memory will be lost.
Before removing the batteries for replacement, jot down the impor-
tant data stored in the Organizer in hard copy form.
Always replace both operating batteries at the same time.
Do not use an old battery and a new one together.
Use only the specified lithium batteries.
Replace the memory backup battery at least every 5 years, or when
the message appears.
Keep the batteries out of the reach of children.

length of time, they might leak and cause corrosion inside the
Organizer.
Do not dispose of batteries by fire as they may explode.

When " m " is displayed on the right side of the display, and the
LCD becomes too dim to read despite contrast adjustment, the
operating batteries are depleted. Press m to turn the power off
and then turn the power back on. If the following display appears
when the power is turned on, replace both operating batteries imme-
diately.
Note: If you have an optional printer/cassette interface and a cas-
sette recorder, copy all the stored data in the Organizer before
replacing the batteries.
