3. [BIOS UPDATE]
You will be asked whether BIOS is updated or not. Selecting
CANCEL causes the operation to be back to the menu. To
update the BIOS, select YES, or to keep current BIOS, select
NO, and press the [Enter] key.
4. [DMI WRITE]
Select whether the DMI information is written or not. Select-
ing CANCEL causes the operation to be back to the menu. To
update the DMI, select YES, or to keep current DMI, select
NO, and press the [Enter] key.
5. [DVD CODE WRITE]
Select whether the REGION CODE is written or not. Select-
ing CANCEL causes the operation to be back to <1>. To up-
date the REGION CODE, select YES, or to keep current RE-
GION CODE, select NO, then press the [Enter] key.
* DVD CODE WRITE can be operated only up to 5 times, so
do not operate it unless it neccessary.
6. [EXECUTE]
The menus selected so far are displayed in the INFORMA-
TION window. Confirm them and if OK, select YES, or if a
change is necessary, select NO.
Selecting YES allows respective data to be written. Upon suc-
cessful completion, OK will be displayed and the data updat-
ing will quit. Then, restart the main unit.
II) Data Check
From the menu screen, select "2: DATA DISPLAY", and check
that the model name and serial number are displayed correctly,
then press the [Q] to quit the data check.
4-10. Monitor EDID Update
The EDID data have not been written to the IFX-119 (T) or (S2)
board supplied by service, and therefore, the EDID data must be
written if the IFX-119 (T) or (S2) board is replaced.
CONNECTION
Note : Nothing will be displayed on the LCD screen, if the IFX-
119 (T) or (S2) board is used without writing the EDID
data.
Tools to be prepared
• EDID writing tool (JIG-46) (J-2500-446-1)
• Connector conversion tool (34pin ↔ 10pin) (J-2507-020-1)
• Conversion cable (40pin ↔ 10pin) (J-2507-021-1)
• PC main unit (with a serial port)
• Serial cable (Cross: D-sub 9pin female ↔ D-sub 9pin male)
• EDID writing software (FD) (J-2507-065-1)
• Power supply (for writing tool: DC +5V, +12V)
1. Connect the conversion cable to the connector conversion tool
and the 40pin MDR connector of the EDID writing tool.
2. Connect the serial cable to the serial connector of the EDID
writing tool and the serial port COM1 of the PC main unit.
3. Connect the cable of the display to the 34pin connector of the
connector conversion tool.
4. Supply power to the writing tool.
5. Insert the EDID writing software disk into the floppy disk drive.
6. Start the PC from the floppy disk.
7. The menu will appear, then enter the number of target model.
8. If the number is entered, the program for data writing will
start.
9. The writing software will start up, then press the [w] key.
10. After the [w] key was pressed, "Do you want to transfer?
(y=space)" will be displayed.
11. Press the [space] key, and the data writing will start.
"Transferring..."

12. When data writing finished, "Verifying..." will be displayed
momentarily, then "Transferring succeeded. (y=continue)" will
be displayed.
13. After pressing the [ESC] key twice, press the [Q] key to quit.
14. When MS-DOS prompt appears, disconnect the power supply
from the EDID writing tool.
15. Turn off the power switch of the PC.
16. Disconnect the serial cable.
17. Disconnect the cable of the display from the connector con-
version tool.
