Gently press down on the touch points of the cache card until it clicks into place on the
connector and is firmly seated

Reconnect the flash power module cable to the cache card.

Align the PCI riser-card assembly with the PCI slot connector on the system board and align
slots on the PCI riser-card assembly with the hinges on the chassis; then, press down firmly
until the riser-card assembly is seated correctly in the connector on the system board.
e.
Insert the adapter into the connector on the riser-card until it is firmly seated.
f.
Reconnect the flash power module cable to the flash power module in the battery/flash power
module tray located on top of the USB/video assembly near the front of the server.
g.
Go toStep 5 on page 265.
Step 5.
Replace the cover (see "Replacing the server top cover" on page 216).
Step 6.
Slide the server in the rack.
Step 7.
Reconnect the power cord and any cables that you removed.
Step 8.
Turn on the peripheral devices and the server.

Removing the system battery

Use this information to remove the system battery.
The following notes describe information that you must consider when replacing the battery:
• IBM has designed this product with your safety in mind. The lithium battery must be handled correctly to
avoid possible danger. If you replace the battery, you must adhere to the following instructions.
Note: In the U. S., call 1-800-IBM-4333 for information about battery disposal.
• If you replace the original lithium battery with a heavy-metal battery or a battery with heavy-metal
components, be aware of the following environmental consideration. Batteries and accumulators that
contain heavy metals must not be disposed of with normal domestic waste. They will be taken back
free of charge by the manufacturer, distributor, or representative, to be recycled or disposed of in a
proper manner.
