Symptoms and Questions
Strong odor

Possible Cause/Solution
y An odor from the insulation around the inside of the oven is normal for the
first few times the oven is used.
y This is temporary.
y The convection fan may turn on and off automatically.
y This is normal. The convection fan will shut off if the door is opened.
y Preheat temperature not reached.
y Fan will start automatically once the preheat temperature is reached.
y Operates opposite the heating cycle.
y This is normal.
y The drawer is out of alignment.
y Fully extend the drawer and push it all the way in. See the Care and Cleaning
of the Range section.
y Drawer is over-loaded or load is unbalanced.
y Reduce weight. Redistribute drawer contents.
y A fuse in your home may be blown or the circuit breaker tripped.
y Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker.
y The oven is self-cleaning.
y Wait for the self-clean cycle to finish and the oven to cool.
y Controls improperly set.

y Liquid in drawer.
y Remove liquid.
y Uncovered foods.
y Cover food with lid or aluminum foil.
y Temperature setting too high.
y Reduce temperature setting.
y Moisture escaping.
