GUARD AGAINST ELECTRIC SHOCK BY AVOIDING BODY CONTACT WITH GROUNDED SURFACES. E.g.: pipes,
radiators, cookers or refrigerators.
ALWAYS PUT THE TOOL IN THE "OFF" POSITION before disconnecting it, to avoid accidental starting when you plug
the tool back in.
DO NOT leave tools or pieces of wood on the saw while it is in operation.
USE THE RECOMMENDED ACCESSORIES. The use of accessories or attachments other than those recommended
in these instructions might present a hazard.
NEVER STAND ON THE SAW. You could suffer serious injury if the saw tips over or if you accidentally touch the blade.
FIRMLY CLAMP OR BOLT your mitre saw to a workbench or table at approximately hip height.
USE ONLY SUITABLE BLADES. Do not use blades with the wrong bore. Never use blade washers or bolts that are
defective or incorrectly adjusted. The maximum blade diameter for your saw is 250 mm (10"). Use only saw blades
recommended by the manufacturer which conform to directive EN 847-1. Do not use saw blades made of high speed steel.
DO NOT REMOVE THE BLADE GUARDS. Never operate the saw with a guard or cover removed. Before you use your
saw, always make sure the guards are functioning correctly.
KEEP HANDS AWAY FROM THE CUTTING AREA and saw blade. Do not reach under the workpiece or around or under
the blade while the blade is rotating. Do not attempt to remove offcuts while the blade is moving.
WARNING: Blades continue to turn after the saw has been turned off.
INSPECT THE POWER CABLE REGULARLY and, if it is damaged, have it replaced by a qualified technician
at an Authorised Ryobi Service Centre. Always keep track of the position of the cable and keep it well away from
the blade when it is rotating.
ALWAYS SUPPORT LONG WORKPIECES to minimise the risk of blade pinching and kickback and to prevent
the sliding of the saw when cutting long or heavy boards.
BEFORE STARTING A CUT, ENSURE THAT THE SAW IS CORRECTLY SET.
GUARD AGAINST KICKBACK. Kickback occurs when the saw jams up suddenly and the workpiece is driven back
towards the operator. Your hand can be pulled towards the blade resulting in serious personal injury. Keep away from
the path of the blade and switch off your saw immediately if the blade binds or jams up.
AVOID CUTTING WORKPIECES WITH NAILS. When cutting wood, check for nails and remove them.
NEVER START A TOOL WHEN THE BLADE IS IN CONTACT WITH THE WORKPIECE. Allow the motor to reach full
speed before starting to cut.
MAKE SURE THAT THE MITRE TABLE AND SAW ARM (BEVEL ADJUSTMENT) ARE FIRMLY SET BEFORE
OPERATING YOUR SAW. Lock the mitre table in position by tightening the mitre lock knob. Lock the saw arm
(bevel adjustment) by securely tightening the bevel lock knob.
NEVER USE A LENGTH STOP ON THE FREE END OF A CLAMPED WORKPIECE. NEVER hold or clamp the free
end of the workpiece during cutting. If a vice and length stop are used simultaneously, they must both be used
on the same side of the mitre table to avoid the saw catching the offcut and throwing it.
NEVER cut more than one workpiece at a time. DO NOT PUT more than one workpiece at a time on the saw table.
NEVER PERFORM ANY OPERATION "FREEHAND". Always place the workpiece on the mitre table firmly against
the fence which will act as a support. Always use the fence.
NEVER hand hold a workpiece that is too small to be clamped. Always keep your hands away from the "keep hands
clear" zone.
NEVER reach behind, under or within 8 cm of the blade and blade path with your hands and fingers for any reason.
NEVER try to pick up a workpiece, a piece of scrap or anything else that is in or near the blade path.
AVOID AWKWARD OPERATIONS AND HAND POSITIONS where a sudden slip could cause your hand to move
towards the blade. ALWAYS keep your balance. NEVER operate your mitre saw on the floor or while crouching down.
NEVER stand or put any part of your body in the blade path.
ALWAYS release the trigger and allow the saw blade to stop rotating before raising it out of the workpiece.
DO NOT SWITCH THE MOTOR ON AND OFF IN RAPID SUCCESSION. This could cause the saw blade to loosen
and could create a hazard. Should this ever occur, stand clear and allow the saw blade to come to a complete stop.
Unplug the saw and retighten the blade clamping bolt.
NEVER leave the saw unattended when it is plugged in.
IF ANY PART OF YOUR MITRE SAW IS MISSING or breaks, is bent or is defective in any way, or if any electrical component
fails, stop the mitre saw, unplug it and have any damaged, missing or faulty parts replaced before using the saw again.
