type approved by STIHL – see
"Specifications".
To reduce the risk of arcing and fire
If the spark plug comes with a
detachable adapter nut:
Screw the adapter nut (1) onto the
N
thread and tighten it down firmly.
HS 81 R, HS 81 RC, HS 81 T, HS 81 TC
On all spark plugs

Always press the boot (2) firmly on
N
to the spark plug (3).

Lubricating the Gearbox

Use STIHL gear lubricant for hedge
trimmers (special accessory) for
lubricating the blade drive gear.

After about 25 hours of operation:
Remove the screw plug (1) from the
N
gear housing on the underside of
the unit.
Screw the tube of grease (2) into the
N
filler hole.
Squeeze up to 5 g grease into the
N
gearbox.
