DRC MODE

Dynamic range is the decibel (dB) range between the
highest and lowest sounds in a broadcast. Some DAB
broadcasters transmit a wide dynamic range (enabling
high quality sound), accompanied by DRC (Dynamic
Range Control) data. DRC can be used to compress the
dynamic range of the broadcast, making softer sounds
easier to hear. This is especially useful when listening to a
DAB service in a noisy environment or at a low volume
(such as at night).
