Your vehicle has been designed
primarily to carry passengers and
their luggage. You can also use it to
tow a trailer if you carefully observe
the load limits, use the proper
equipment, and follow the guidelines
in this section.
On Type-R model
Your vehicle is not designed to tow a
trailer.
Exceeding any load limit or
improperly loading your
vehicle and trailer can cause
a crash in which you can be
seriously hurt or killed.
Check the loading of your
vehicle and trailer carefully
before starting to drive.
Load Limits
The total weight of the trailer and
towbar (with/without brakes) plus
its luggage must not exceed the
maximum towing weight. See page
488
.

Towing a Trailer

The trailer nose load should never
exceed 75 kg (165 lbs). This is the
amount of weight the trailer puts
on the towbar when it is fully-
loaded. As a rule of thumb for
trailer weights of less than 750 kg
(1,653 lbs), the trailer nose load
should be 10 percent of the total
trailer package.
