Connecting the Onkyo Separate Collection Series components (See the CR-185X/CHR-185X instruction manual for
system connection.)
When the MD recorder is configured into a system with Onkyo Separate Collection series components (CR-185X/CHR-185X AND K-
185X), the following additional features are provided:
One-touch Play
Pressing the PLAY button of the MD-185X automatically selects the "MD" input source on the CR-185X/CHR-185X before playing the
MD.
Remote control of the System Components
You can control the operation of this MD recorder using the CR-185X's or CHR-185X's remote control.
Timer Playback/Recording
You can record the desired broadcasting programs or play your favorite MD at a specified time using the CR-185X/CHR-185X's built-in
timer.
CD-dubbing
When the MD-185X is connected with the CR-185X/CHR-185X CD player, pressing the CD DUBBING button on the MD recorder
immediately starts recording from the CD onto the MD.
CD-synchro Recording
When this function is enabled, you can immediately start recording to the MD by pressing the PLAY button on the CD player.
CD-dubbing with track specified
You can record only one track at a time being played from CD.
MD-synchro Recording
When this function is enabled, you can immediately start recording to the cassette tape by pressing the PLAY button on the MD recorder.

Connecting the AC power cord
and switching power on
1. Insert the AC power cord into a wall
outlet.
2. Press the STAND-BY/ON button. The
display will light.
Note:
To insert the AC power cord into an AC
outlet on the rear panel of another compo-
nents, use the UNSWITCHED outlet.
