Connecting an ONKYO stereo
cassette tape deck
The illustration below describes the connection with
an ONKYO stereo cassette tape deck.
To connect to other cassette tape deck, connect the TAPE
OUTPUT (REC) and INPUT (PLAY) jacks of the unit to the
INPUT (REC) and OUTPUT (PLAY) jacks of the cassette
tape deck, respectively.

What can you do with an ONKYO stereo cassette
tape deck by connecting with an
• An ONKYO stereo cassette tape deck can be operated
with the supplied remote controller.
• Both the units can be turned on by turning on either unit.
• When you start playing a tape, the unit input selector will
automatically be switched to the stereo cassette tape deck
(TAPE).
• Synchro recording operations (see page 39).

Remove the protective cap before
you use the OPTICAL DIGITAL
INPUT connector. Please retain it
for future use. If you do not use
the optical digital audio connector,
make sure to replace the cap.
Connecting a DVD player
Analog connection is necessary in addition to the
optical digital audio connection. To connect to the
ONKYO DVD player, be sure to connect to the LINE
IN-1 jacks with the audio connection cable, not the
LINE IN-2 jacks.

About the OPTICAL DIGITAL INPUT
connector
An optical digital audio output equipped CD player,
satellite tuner, or DAT may be connected instead of a
DVD player with an optical fiber audio cable for digital
recording of them.
Tip
The source names appearing in
the display can be customized
to the connected component.
